Folate (L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate) 400mcg

Non-Medicinal Ingredients:

Hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, rice bran oil.

Directions for Use:

Adults (19 years and older) - Take 1 capsule per day. Take with food, a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products. 400 mcg of folate per day is adequate for most women to reduce the risk of neural tube defects. Consult a healthcare professional to determine if you would benefit from additional folate before taking this product.

Cautions:

Do not use if • you have certain medical conditions • you have an allergy to bovine products. A very serious allergic reaction to this product is rare. Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, upset stomach, and stomach/abdominal cramping may occur. Iron may cause stools to turn black, an effect that is not harmful. Iron supplements can decrease the absorption of drugs such as • tetracycline • antibiotics • penicillamine • cefdinir • chloramphenicol • levothyroxine • levodopa • quinolone antibiotics. Therefore, doses of these medications should be spaced as far as possible. This product may interfere with certain laboratory tests (including testing for blood in stool) possibly causing false test results. Make sure laboratory personnel and all doctors know you are taking this product. Keep out of reach of children. There is enough drug in this package to seriously harm a child.
