Biologically Active Form of Chromium - GTF Chromium, or Glucose Tolerance Factor Chromium, is the biologically active form of chromium in the body. Other than the body GTF chromium is found only in foods. There have been many attempts to isolate or synthesize the GTF; none have been successful. It has been proposed that GTF chromium is a complex of chromium, nicotinic acid, and possibly the amino acids glycine, cysteine, and glutamic acid.
